Iris Lewis running for the office of Fort Bend County District Clerk
I am proud to officially announce my candidacy for Fort Bend County District Clerk — a role where service, integrity, and accountability truly matter.
Fort Bend County has been home to my family for more than 45 years combined. My husband, Mike, was raised in Missouri City, and I grew up in Houston, attending the High School for Health Professions. When it came time to plant roots of our own, we searched for a community that reflected our values and kept us close to both of our families. Seventeen years ago, we found exactly that in Canyon Gate at the Brazos in Richmond, Texas.
Our two sons attended Williams Elementary, Polly Ryon Middle School, and George Ranch High School — and like so many Fort Bend families, we’ve built our lives around school events, sports, community service, and local traditions. Mike operates his business in Sugar Land, and I make the daily metro commute to my downtown office. We are deeply woven into the fabric of this community, and we’ve witnessed firsthand the tremendous growth and the need for systems that keep pace with it.
With nearly 30 years of public service, including 20 years in leadership and administration, I am ready to bring integrity, transparency, and efficiency to the District Clerk’s Office. My career has been dedicated to connecting the public with the legal system, improving processes, strengthening compliance, and advocating for families. Now, I’m bringing that experience home to Fort Bend.
My mission is simple: to serve our community with the quality, accountability, and professionalism you deserve.
Together, we can build a District Clerk’s Office that reflects the values of Fort Bend County — honesty, service, and excellence. I invite you to follow this journey, share the message, and help shape a stronger future for our community.
